CONCLUSION

We hope that none of these difficulties will arise at all and that you will be very happy with any Jewellery you have ordered from Anne Bowes Jewellery.

CARE OF JEWELLERY

Each piece of Anne Bowes Jewellery is carefully made and the materials of a high quality. Here are some ways to keep your jewellery in the best condition possible:

  • Remove jewellery before physical exercise, such as the gym, gardening and cleaning, to ensure delicate jewellery is not accidentally damaged. Some pieces are really robust and can be worn in more situations, such as The Pineapple Pendant on a strong Belcher chain. But others can be more vulnerable and it is worth giving some thought to their safety!
  • We strongly advise applying skin creams and perfumes before putting on jewellery as the chemicals can react adversely with some metals and stones, particularly pearls.
  • Tarnished metals can be cleaned carefully and gently with silver or gold polishing cloths.
  • Gemstones both semi-precious and precious can be cleaned in gem jewellery cleaning liquid which can be bought from most high street jewellers.
  • Pearls need more gentle care and a little wipe with a clean damp cloth should clean them. If a pearl is in a setting, such as The Pearl and Gold Hoop Earring’ they have been glued into the gold cap and so should not be immersed in water.
  • Remove jewellery before going into water, ie shower, swimming pool, spa or the sea.

STORAGE OF JEWELLERY

Jewellery is best stored in a plastic zip lock bag or wrapped in acid free tissue to help prevent tarnishing if unworn.

Store each piece of jewellery separately to prevent tangling, rubbing or scratching. We don’t recommend you sleep in our jewellery.

Jewellery should not be stored next to heating vents, windowsills or in bathrooms as damp and hot conditions can cause the jewellery to tarnish badly.

If you are wearing layers of chains, and that is a great look, occasionally separate them out with your fingers to prevent tangling.
